General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his hope that Vietnamese scientists, experts, and intellectuals in Russia would serve as a pioneering force in connecting knowledge, science, technology, and new cooperative initiatives.
During a meeting with embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Russia on the evening of September 7, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the Party and State remain committed to caring for and better protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the overseas Vietnamese community, while also creating conditions for them to maintain increasingly strong ties with their homeland, according to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).
The General Secretary and President stated that in the coming time, the Party and State would continue to refine institutions, mechanisms, and policies—ensuring they are synchronized, open, and innovative—to effectively connect, attract, and leverage the resources of the overseas Vietnamese community, particularly intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and the younger generation living abroad.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his hope that Vietnamese scientists, experts, and intellectuals in Russia would continue to uphold a spirit of creativity, resilience, and responsibility, acting as a pioneering force in connecting knowledge, science, technology, and new cooperative initiatives.
He also urged Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia to continue driving economic, trade, and investment cooperation and fostering business connections between the two nations, thereby helping to expand into new areas of collaboration that align with the potential and development needs of both Vietnam and Russia.
Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Russia, stated that the community is always mindful that their every action and deed contributes to shaping the image of the country and people of Vietnam.
Consequently, Vietnamese people in Russia encourage one another to respect local culture, customs, and social norms, and to contribute to their local communities. At the same time, they strive to preserve the Vietnamese language, culture, and traditions, building a community that is united yet open, integrated yet distinct—one where success goes hand in hand with responsibility.
On the same day, General Secretary and President To Lam met with Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. He stated that Vietnam is striving to complete the Museum of the Communist Party of Vietnam by 2030, in preparation for the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding.
The General Secretary and President expressed his hope for continued Russian support in accessing archival materials—currently held in Russian museums and archives—regarding Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh; ties with the Communist International; the support provided by the Soviet Union and other socialist countries during Vietnam's resistance war against the US and the subsequent period of socialist construction; and the history of Vietnam-Russia cooperation from 1991 to the present.
