Xuan Hoa Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) is intensifying legal training to enhance the effectiveness of preventing and combating drug-related crimes, with the ultimate goal of becoming a drug-free area by 2030.
On the afternoon of October 14, the Steering Committee 26 of Xuan Hoa Ward, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law at the People’s Police Academy, organized a training session on the latest updates to the 2025 Law on Drug Prevention and Control, along with its implementing guidelines. This initiative aims to improve the efficacy of efforts to prevent and combat drug-related crimes and social evils at the grassroots level.
The session was attended by representatives from the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Xuan Hoa Ward. Also in attendance were representatives from various departments, local organizations, the ward police, grassroots security forces, neighborhood representatives, local universities, as well as union members and association representatives from the area.
At the conference, speakers from the Faculty of Law at the People’s Police Academy outlined the new provisions of the 2025 Law on Drug Prevention and Control, along with its implementing guidelines. They analyzed relevant regulations and addressed challenges and obstacles encountered during local-level implementation.
The training also focused on identifying the methods and tactics employed by drug offenders, helping participants remain vigilant, take proactive preventive measures, and promptly detect and report illegal activities.
Through this conference, participants gained further legal knowledge and developed skills in raising public awareness—encouraging citizens to better comply with the law and to actively participate in identifying and reporting drug-related crimes and violations.
This initiative helps mobilize the entire political system and the collective strength of the public in the fight against drugs, thereby maintaining security and order in the area. It also serves as a key measure toward the goal of establishing Xuan Hoa Ward as a drug-free zone by 2030.
