Nguyen Trai High School has organized an awareness campaign on cybersecurity laws, designed to help students identify online violence, protect their personal information, and engage in safe behavior within the digital space.
Given the growing prevalence of social media, equipping students with knowledge of cybersecurity laws and the skills for safe digital conduct has become an urgent necessity.
This initiative at Nguyen Trai High School serves to raise awareness, empowering students to proactively protect themselves against risks encountered in the online environment.
As indicated on the event banners, the program focused on cybersecurity legislation and strategies for preventing online violence.
On October 26, the program featured insights from several legal experts: Ha Manh Tuong, Deputy Head of the Dong Nai Bar Association; Tran Quoc Tuan, Head of the Quoc Tuan Phat Law Office; and Nguyen Quang Tan, Director of the law firm Hi-Law & Partner Firm. Representing the school were Vice Principal Nguyen Minh Quan and various members of the teaching staff.
The awareness-raising content aims to improve legal literacy and help students identify online behaviors that could cause harm—such as violating someone’s honor or dignity, issuing threats, spreading false information, sharing private images without consent, or engaging in cyberbullying.
These issues can have serious consequences, affecting not only students' mental well-being and academic performance but also their personal relationships and overall development.
In reality, a single thoughtless comment, an image shared without authorization, or unverified information can spread rapidly, causing harm to others.
Therefore, using social media responsibly is not merely a technical skill; it also reflects one’s legal awareness, standards of conduct, and respect for the community.
Through educational outreach, students should be guided on how to protect their personal information, configure privacy settings, verify sources, and respond calmly if they encounter threats or online bullying.
In the event of a serious incident, students should preserve evidence, report the violating content to the platform, and seek support from family, teachers, or relevant authorities, rather than retaliating with negative behavior.
Furthermore, schools and families should work together consistently to provide digital skills education and foster a school environment that is safe, respectful, and intolerant of any form of violence.
Promoting awareness of cybersecurity laws not only helps students understand their rights and responsibilities but also contributes to cultivating a culture of civil conduct in the digital space.
When individuals take a moment to reflect before posting, sharing, or commenting, the online environment becomes safer and healthier—especially for future generations.
