HCMC – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is consulting relevant ministries and agencies on a draft decree adjusting up pensions and social insurance allowances by 7.19% for eight groups of laborers and retirees, according to Tuoi Tre Onlinenewspaper.

The ministry’s proposal, if approved, will benefit former public officials, civil servants and laborers, as well as military and police personnel; retired officials of communes, wards and towns; people receiving monthly allowances for being unable to work; rubber workers and communal officials receiving monthly allowances.

Higher pensions and social insurance allowances were also proposed for people receiving monthly allowances for labor accidents and occupational diseases.

If the ministry’s proposal is accepted, the new pension and social insurance allowance rates will be applied from July 1, benefiting nearly three million people.
