Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered an expanded investigation into the cheating scandal in the 2025 local government civil service examination, affirming that all individuals involved will be prosecuted according to the law.
The Crime Suppression Bureau is preparing to add charges against three suspects already arrested and has summoned two more high-ranking officials for questioning. The investigation began in late June after police uncovered a network interfering with and altering exam scores.
Subsequent review revealed that over 5,800 exam papers showed signs of score manipulation. Of these, more than 3,600 candidates who had initially failed had their scores raised to passing.
