Knowing that 4 Chinese citizens did not have legal documents to stay in Vietnam, Nguyen Tien Sang and Nguyen Van Dang still arranged accommodation and tried to get this group to leave Phu Quoc to benefit.
On July 15, the Security Investigation Agency of An Giang Provincial Police announced that it had prosecuted the case, prosecuted the accused and temporarily detained Nguyen Tien Sang (born 1995, from Quang Tri) and Nguyen Van Dang (born 1975, residing in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province) to investigate the crime of organizing others to stay in Vietnam illegally.
According to the investigation, Sang worked as a ticket seller, tourism service business in Phu Quoc special zone, and rented many apartments and villas for guests to stay. During the course of his business, Sang rented a villa to a Chinese national in Quarter 7, An Thoi.
According to the agreement, Sang is responsible for managing and declaring temporary residence for guests. After that, the villa was rented out and four Chinese citizens came to stay. Even though he knew that these people did not have legal documents to stay in Vietnam, Sang still let them stay and did not declare temporary residence according to regulations for fear of having to cancel the contract, have to pay compensation, and gain profit.
On June 29, during an administrative inspection of accommodation establishments in Phu Quoc special zone, the Immigration Management Department of An Giang Provincial Police discovered 2 Chinese citizens without passports or visas staying in an apartment.
Afraid of being inspected by the authorities, four Chinese citizens asked the villa's tenant to find another place to live. Through an acquaintance, Nguyen Van Dang agreed to arrange for this group to stay in an apartment in the Sonasea area.
According to the investigation agency, despite knowing clearly that 4 Chinese citizens entered and stayed illegally in Vietnam, he still arranged accommodation and collected rent to benefit illegally.
Not only did we arrange accommodation, we also arranged to bring 4 Chinese citizens to Hong Ngoc ferry to leave Phu Quoc for the mainland. However, when this group was present at the ferry terminal, the Border Guard force at Duong Dong Port Border Gate detected suspicious signs, promptly stopped it and coordinated with An Giang Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the case.
Working with the investigation agency, Nguyen Tien Sang and Nguyen Van Dang admitted their crimes.
Currently, the Security Investigation Agency of An Giang Provincial Police continues to expand the investigation and handle related individuals according to the provisions of law.
